Skeletal Muscle and Muscle Mass

Hey all!

I had a BodPod done and had a few questions I was hoping some knowledgable folks here could help answer.

Some background on me. I used to be very overweight, @365 pounds at my peak. I started dieting and exercising about three years ago, I have been stable at 205-210 for the last year. I do have a lot of loose skin which I know can throw off some of the measurements for the BodPod.

Here is the question! My results came in stating my Skeletal Muscle was at 48.6%, which they charted in the "low" area (they have the standard between 49% and 59%). What confuses me is my Muscle Mass is at 151.4 pounds, which is on the high end. I feel like it doesn't make much sense for my Skeletal Muscle to be so low if my Muscle Mass is so high. Is there any logical explanation to this? And if it is a normal thing, what can I do to increase my Skeletal Muscle?

Thanks a bunch.
