Hello, im a 31 year old male, who just had heart surgery to replace the aortic valve. I went from 181 lbs to 160ish lbs. I use to have 18.5% BF, now have 21.8%.
I never really looked into a diet but now I really want to keep my heart in good health and wanna build my body up a bit more to fortify my chest (cause they had to crack my ribs for the surgery).
Here is what im currently eating.
Breakfast:
either 6 eggs (2 yolk) with 1/2 cup of shredded cheese
or
oat meal with protein powder and chia seeds and almond peanut butter.
Lunch:
Either a chicken breast with rice or a mashed potato
or
hamburger helper with ground tuna instead of ground meat and a mashed potato
before workouts:
1 large can of albacore white tuna with a little bit of mayo and some wheat crackers.
Dinner:
Either a chicken breast with rice or a mashed potato
or
hamburger helper with ground tuna instead of ground meat and a mashed potato.
I will note I do drink 1 red bull and 1 can of pop a day, usually a total of 60-75g of sugar.
I am also getting between 1500-2500 calories a day, and 150-200g of protein as well, depending if its a workout day. I also drink between 24g-48g of water a day.
I'm only looking to stay between 160-180 lbs I don't wanna go higher than that.
Is hamburger helper healthy if im adding organic ground turkey healthier than ground beef, or should I just cut out the hamburger helper out completely.
Its also good to note I cannot eat salads or many vegetables due to my INR being in such a tight window and greens really drops it.
Thanks in advanced for the advice!
