I've been on a bulk for a month now, going to the gym 4-5 times a week and eating around 2600-2900 calories. What I've noticed is that I have gained around 5-8 lbs give or take and I'm not sure if i should be cutting down on my calories but what I've been told is to surplus around 300 calories which I'm doing right now. I eat mostly eggs, peanut butter, chicken and rice, and protein supplements, but I don't want to continue to eat this many calories and only gain fat.
Is it normal to gain this much weight at the start of a bulk when before I would eat only around 1500-2000 calories? Should I cut down my calories? I calculated that at 5"11 and 165 lbs i should be eating around 2500 to maintain.
