Hello! (First post) :D I'm 29 female and began body building 7 months ago. I've made some serious gains (hahaha)
disclaimer: I know this suggestion is not the optimal diet for body building or anyone for that matter. I know the optimal diet for body building, but I don't care to follow it.
During my life, I have been mostly eating a vegetarian-based diet. I know the health benefits of eating lean animal protein but I've never been a really big fan.
Recently, I wanted to up muscle game and tried to explore a rich animal protein diet by including lean meat, chicken and fish... (I eat eggs on the regular, but don't enjoy them) The result? I now feel sick at the thought of eating animal protein. I've turned myself completely off it and I finally realised why I've been vegetarian most of my life...the only animal protein I do eat is either doused in GMOs/additives, deep fried or coated in some sort of flavouring to mask the flavour. I just don't like eating animal meat
Since this has happened, i've found myself in a dilemma of what to eat. I have a few hormonal disorders so I am conscious of what I eat and trying to find the right balance with not much luck. ...but there is a common denominator: I love my carbs. and I don't eat dairy because it plays with my hormone levels and causes bloating/cramps/cystic acne.
Recently, I have began eating fruit again...lots of fruit (and vegetables).. I find the fruit satisfies my sweet tooth (and carb tooth?). I consume pea protein on the regular (100g per day) to maintain a moderate protein intake and thats basically my diet at the moment. My mood has changed as I've noticed I feel slightly happier and I feel more satiated being able to eat more and not gain other than muscle mass (and looking leaner). Honestly, I feel so much better than I have for a while.
My question:is this sort of diet super bad for building muscle if I supplement with vitamins like D3, B12, Iron etc? I'm not suggesting I eat this way 100% of the time, like I will permit going out and indulging occasionally etc, but I seem to just feel best eating this way?
Thanks in advance :) - PS. Why does my account say I'm 49??? I put in my birth date and everything.
