Eating before workout = bigger gains?

If you eat before a workout, then as you're working out, the body has access to nutrients such that it can repair damage to your muscles as you are damaging them, right? Then it can sooner begin the process of building them up. But if you wait until after the workout, then your body may have to wait a while to repair the muscles, and it won't do as good of a job of repairing the muscle fibers, nor as good a job of creating more muscle. Anyway that's my guess as to what's going on. If you combine this with eating after a workout, you get bigger gains right? Let me know what you guys think?
