hello everyone,
I am 50yo, 180cm tall, and my calories need is probably 2300. I work out 4 or 5 times a week, low reps.
on 25/06 I was 82kg, 22.7% fat (18.6kg), 63.4kg LBM.
that day I went on a restrictive diet of 1650/ 1700 calories and 165gr Protein, 100gr Fats, 21gr Carbs macros (40% protein, 55% fat, 5% carbs).
the goal is to reach 15% fat, not lose muscles (or as little as possible), and then bulk up.
Yesterday I was 77kg, 20.3% fat (15.6kg), 61.4kg LBM.
So I lost 2KG of muscles and 3KG of fat in 25 days.
I think it s too much muscle lost!
(One thing, is that I had a minor surgery and since 5 days I had to stop working out. This may have had a negative impact in retaining muscles. I am starting working out again on Monday.)
what are your thoughts?
Shall I continue with this macros/calories intake till I hit 15% fat?
Or shall I increase calories back to 2300? If yes, shall I change my macros and increase carbs or stay in a low carb diet and increase fats instead?
