I’m going back to cutting an I’m going to follow the same plan of approximately 40% carb, 40% protein, and 20% fat. I thought that worked out very well and I was consuming 2000 calories a day while lifting 5 days a week. My question is do I really need 1g protein per pound of body weight? Currently I weigh 195lb and on my previous cut I was hitting 200g protein a day while. My macros were almost almost 40c/40p/20f. Would it affect my fat loss and muscle preservation if I drop some protein from 200g to 180g? Is it actually beneficial to eat 1g/pound of body weight? Also before on my cut I was only getting around 35-40g fat a day. If I make this switch to 180g of protein my fat will go up to around 55g fat. Is that too much? Or just enough?
For anyone wondering I’m planning on switching out and item I used to eat as my dinner. I used to eat this Trader Joe’s skinless chicken breast almost everynight. To be honest it got old really fast so I was thinking of eating just a Tyson chicken patty. It has a couple more calories but I planned on just hitting some quick cardio to negate that.
