Calorie Shakes as main source of food?

Hello. I take medication that makes my appetite disappear. It is very difficult for me to reach my calorie goals with regular food so I have been thinking about supplementing with calorie shakes. This would make up half of my calorie goal per day. The shakes would include milk, oats, and berries.

How do you feel about this? Do you find calories shakes less effective that real food?
