Hello everyone!
I'm currently at a crossroads, wondering whether to bulk up or to cut down below 10%. Any insights are appreciated.
About myself: I'm 24y, 5'11 and 155 lbs, currently training 3x a week with weights doing 6 exercises (all the big compound movements) each training, trying to build strength and muscle, and also doing 20mins of eliptical 2-3 times a week. Current 1RM are:
(slight) Inlcine Bench: 210 lbs
Squat: 232 lbs
Deadlift: 353 lbs
Overhead Press: 155 lbs
Barbell curl: 121 lbs
I've never been able to get above this weight of 155lbs while maintaining a decently good physique. I used to be ultra shredded, somewhere at 7% bf, I looked great except my arms got really small since I didn't do any weightlifting and just did HIIT style training (pic 1). For about a year now I've been trying to add muscle and I'm not able to get any good results, I feel like I gain too much fat and don't build enough muscle. I'm guessing I'm at 15-20% bf. Maybe I've reached my ceiling genetically and just have bad genes for muscle mass. My goal is to get to a level of leanness like in picture nr. 1 but to be more muscular. In the lean picture i was 137lbs at about 7%bf and now i'm only 155lbs at around 15% bf (pictures 2-5). Wondering if you guys have any tips for me
