Hi i’m currently 125 lbs and 5’10 as i just finished junior year in high school.
I want to weigh around 160-170 by the end of summer but I don’t know if that’s even possible.
I know you can’t really gain 40 lbs of lean mass over a 2-3 month period, but I was still curious if it it would be fine for myself to gain 40 lbs in weight over this period of time.
I’m pretty skinny (definitely an ectomorph) and have had problems gaining weight as I’m a picky eater (Which i’m trying to fix), and I was just curious if I were to stick to a good diet with extra calories (Maybe around 4500 calories a day), and worked out every other day of the week of the summer a different body part to try and build muscle mass, would I gain the 40 pounds during the summer even if it isn’t all muscle? Even though it isn’t all muscle, I would appreciate the fat as I would no longer be skinny anymore, and 160-170 weight range for my height isn't obese, would this be a good goal to target during the summer?
Also note; i’ve never really worked out enough consistently in my life to build some sort of muscle-mass, so i’m pretty new to lifting meaning that I will have newbie gains which will help me.
All I want is some tips and advice for myself that can help/benefit me in my goal to gain some weight, and if what I am going to do is plausible for the situation.
If anything, what do you think would be a realistic goal for myself to achieve during the summer? I just don’t want to be so skinny anymore and would like to build some muscle so that I can live a healthier lifestyle.
I’m also new to this site and lifting in general, so cut me so slack if I’m acting somewhat out of the ordinary.
