New member, just making sure of my numbers

Hello,

It’s been quite a long time since I last looked here, but it seems quite a lot has changed.
Used to be macro counting and strict adherence to things like never fats and carbs at the same time were the popular advice. But, now it’s minimum proteins and fats....thereafter it doesn’t really matter. Very interesting!!

So, to my question. I’ve had a bad run of luck with health the last 3 years and been unable to workout, or move very much at all during that time. Thus, I have put on quite a bit of weight...and certainly not in any good way.

I’m now 40, and stand about 6’2”. Currently at 295lbs with easily 30% BF.

My current target weight for the end of the year is 235. As far as diet, the daily intake calculators say 2300 and change per day. So I’ll start at 1800 cals per day?

So, I should focus on 235 proteins and 96 fats?
Is it still considered optimum to eat every 2-3 hours?
I browsed the stickies...but as I said, it looks like much has changed in 10 years.
