Quick question about MPS and nutrient timing

This is a thought that has occurred to me from time to time: we speak of consuming protein on a certain timetable to capitalize on certain windows where MPS is maximized, but if you're eating an appropriate daily amount of protein, isn't it being digested and absorbed in your intestines pretty much at all times anyway, perhaps even faster than would be from your stomach?

The "bro" anxiety about eating something or having a shake within an hour of your workout seems to regard the stomach as the primary vehicle for amino acid absorption. For instance, say you're eating your daily target, and breakfast (which had plenty of protein) is currently in your small intestine after your workout. Are you not getting a comparable inflow of protein delivered to your blood as if it was in your stomach?

I've seen some recent comments here which seem to have moved away from regarding nutrient timing as especially meaningful in the first place, but admittedly I don't understand the science of digestion all that well and am curious if there's anything to this thought, or if I'm missing something important.
