how to time your pre-work out nutrition ?

my pre workout nutrition involves a good meal( glass of milk+ 2 eggs+ banana + a small babybel, lol) and a pre workout drink... Now i have been eating my meal and wait half and hour to an hour to take my pre workout drink and hit the gym.... what do you guys do ?
