Noob Question

Yo lads, I would like to get into the gym but me and my family are poor and we don't usually get to eat much (usually 1 meal a day for me) but we get the occasional 3 meal day. I was wondering what kind of changes I would see when working out with this diet. I don't have plans to get massive but I want to lose body fat and have more defined muscles. My usual diet is just meat/tuna and rice/bread also instant noodles. What can I eat that is cheap and will help me achieve my goals a bit better.

New member! Looking for advice please.

Read a lot, learned a lot. I have an Endomorph body type. 52 years old, sedentary lifestyle. 265lbs 6' tall. 42 inch waist, man boobs... "dad bod girlie man" so to speak.

Last month I finally said to myself "I need to get healthier for myself - screw the family - but for ME".

I bought an elliptical. Joined a gym. Started exercising. Feeling better. Starting weight was about 274lbs. Im doing good. But I want to know a few things from the experts in here. My goal is to build muscle but lose lots of body fat.

I exercise on an empty stomach (usually 2-3 hours after i last ate). Im slowly building up my intensity and workout routines so my body can adjust. For example - the first 4 days I could NOT use the elliptical for more than 3 minutes without fatigue and getting winded. Today I can stay on it for 32 minutes. Im using free weights and modified a few workout programs from online... It seems to be working, but...

Should I eat immediately AFTER workout or 60-90 minutes after? i wonder what is better for fat loss?
I typically eat a green vegie (broccoli spinach, green beans) and chicken breast or a can of tuna with a teaspoon of mayo after working out. Not trying to get bulky... my muscles are starting to grow / exist - lol... I just need some ideas as to when to eat after a workout... immediately after? or one hour? 2 hours? 3 hours? does my body eat the fat for fuel after a workout? Does it work like that?

Thanks you all so much. Advice is welcomed.

Tony

Confused about what should I do as a HARDGAINER!

Hello guys.Im new to the forum. So,

Im 18yo male, 175cm and 52kg SUPER UNDERWEIGHT (like 17BMI).
I cannot access any gym.I also dont have an extreme equipment.I only have a 10kg Barbell and a Resisance Band.

Is it okay if im doing bodyweight exercises and exercises with the barbell and resistance band and eating on a 1000 calories surplus? (I know it is a big surplus but i really wanna look "average" asap (like 4 months).
I was thinking to follow this "tactic" until i get to 60 or 65kg and then get a gym membership.

However from what I have read many people say that you can become skinny fat.

So my QUESTION is: Will this work? Will i look "Average" (i dont want an extreme body, super muscular) in about 4 months?
IS THERE A POSSIBILITY THAT I WILL STAY THE SAME BUT THE ONLY THING THAT GROWS IS THE ABDOMINAL AREA?

this is my body in case you need it (type h in front of it): ttps://imgur.com/a/DHNg9Tt

Temporary protein powder and chicken only plan

right now 6' 5" ~200 lbs, probably around 13 or 14% bf

Have made significant progress on my recomp to date but still have this awful stubborn pudge of fat on my belly/waist. I want to step it up with getting shredded and get myself somewhere sub 10% BF, then once I'm there begin a long clean bulk. It sucks being a skinny fat.

So it would go something like this:

-One scoop of isopure whey (100 cal/25g protein) every two hours from 6AM-6PM, so 7 total scoops or shakes.

-For 8PM dinner, 1000 grams of boneless skinless chicken breast (1100 cal/231 grams protein)

So in the end I'm at 1,800 calories/406 grams protein. Add some coffee in the mornings and bubble gum throughout the day and so around 2000 calories grand total. Will also take creatine and daily multivitamin. I have it tailored like this so my sleep isn't disturbed by hunger pangs in the night. Currently I'm taking in around 2700-3000 calories and 380-400 grams protein every single day, mainly taking in protein bars/powder, beef jerky and chicken. Not gonna lie, I expel some truly nasty pungent farts all the time. My arms and chest are noticeably more muscular but my awful fat genetics has stuck me with an unsightly stomach.

I'm thinking of trying this for a few days, and if I can sustain that expand it to a few weeks, doing this for one month max. May even have DEXA scans done before and after. Thoughts? Am I crazy? Again, this would only be temporary.

My daily calories are less/equal to my current weight before factoring in exercise?

I dieted down to 170 last year. My daily calories are between 1000 and 2000.
Average to 1600-1700 calorie per day for week/7 days
I walk 20 miles per week. Workout 4 times per week. Isn't this another 2000 calories burned/week?
This would net me a daily calorie count of 1400/1500 or 140-150 lbs.
What am I missing?

Post Bulking Cleanse Advice Needed

I am currently bulking (fairly cleanly). In a few weeks I intend on coming off my bulk and starting to cut for a while. I recently came across Raw Generation 3-Day Skinny Cleanse. It is a juice cleanse that I was considering using after bulking before cutting. The cleanse has you eat nothing but juice (approx. 700 calories per day) for 3 days.

I was wondering if I eat nothing but juice for 3 days will that have any major catabolic effects on my body or negative effects on my metabolism? I am planning my cut very carefully with ample protein to try to hang onto as much muscle as possible and I would hate to do anything detrimental to the process. Should I wait until the end of my cutting to do this cleanse instead? Should I skip the cleanse altogether?

Thanks for the help!
