Lifting without eating enough protein

So, I have enrolled in university now, I am dead broke- on the way to becoming rich as **** again, but for the last 2 months and the near future, I'm gonna be broke.
My brother has a one year subscription to a ****ty gym, he's letting me use it.

A little history about me, I've lifted seriously for about a year and during that year I spend my income on my diet and on my other hobbies (body work on motorcycles, mopeds and gaming). I got big, then lean. It revealed my imperfections; biceps, lats and rear delts were lacking (low effort back/pull days). I decided to bulk and focus on those muscles.

I was earning my money on err.. questionable ways. I decided to go legit- turns out, the job market in my city is trash. I got offered a job with incredible pay, but I have to have a motorcycle license, I am gonna get that in a few weeks. Back to my question: What are the consequences of lifting without eating enough protein? I do not wanna stop lifting. It's my outlet. It's my passion. My parents don't support my bodybuilding diet, they say I should eat what I get on my plate, I understand that and I'm grateful for the food I am getting. I should note, I am eating protein, just not enough (usually 150-200g protein, now 50g a day).

I do not want to spend 'only 20 bucks' on a tub of whey protein. To get out of this broke lifestyle, I need all of my money going to college (supplies, laptop, transportation), to my license and to my rising business. Until I have all of that set, no money will go to protein or my other hobbies.

What are your thoughts? I know I won't get bigger, but am I just harming my body by lifting without the proper nutrition?

Thank you in advance,
Emirhan
