Are all calories the same when calorie counting?

Whether I drink 2000 calories worth of chocolate milk in a day... Or eat 2000 calories worth of hotdogs in a day... Or eat 2000 calories worth of celery in a day...

If I only burn 1500 calories that day... Will I gain the same amount of weight from that 500 calorie excess regardless of the source of the excess?

Or are different varieties of food/drink processed differently, used more/less efficiently (IE: I may eat 500 calories of something, but it rapidly progresses through my digestive system and thus my body obtains less sustenance from it before it becomes waste or something), etc.?

Thanks
