Will cardio affect my ability to gain muscle?

I dont know if its a myth but Ive heard you shouldnt do cardio if youre focusing on building muscle

But lets say I want to do 50 minutes of intense cardio once a week, in the form of boxing training

Given that I increase my calories on that set day, will it affect my ability to gain muscle in the long run at all?
