Mindset and Physiological Response to Food

I was listening to Ben Pulaski's podcast this morning, and he brought up a study which I was unaware about and find absolutely fascinating.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21574706

Basically, participants were given a shake with a given amount of calories. One group thought there was 620 calories in said shake, while the other group thought there was 160 calories in said shake. The groups had different responses in ghrelin based on what they THOUGHT was in said shake.

In my opinion this shows an incredible connection between the mind and our body's response to nutrition. We probably know very little in the grand scheme of things when it comes to nutrition overall and even less when it comes to the brain. What else can be drawn from this? Can "thinking" about the purpose of the food we're eating trick our bodies into using it for that purpose more efficiently. (Ex: Thinking about how these nutrients are meant for recuperation and repair)

Anyways, the study is from 2011 so this may have been posted already. Just thought I'd share.
