Hi,
I'm trying to get healthy and build muscle at the same time and have been drinking about 4 or 5 of these 1 litre smoothies every day as a meal replacement. I think they're pretty awesome but I realise that I don't know very much so I wanted to see what more knowledgeable people thought of my smoothie concoctions.
Ingredients:
100ml orange juice
200ml coconut water
30g Huel powder
30g protein powder
10ml extra virgin olive oil
10ml hemp oil
50g Spinach
1.5g creatine
1.5 cups of frozen strawberries or blackberries
Half a lime if I can be bothered
Any leftover space is topped up with water
I guess my concerns with the above are that
A) after drinking 4 or 5 of these a day I'm probably getting too much sugar in my diet.
B) I've worked out that a combined ~90ml of olive and hemp oil a day works out at about 700 calories just from fat, convenient for a bulk but is this taking it too far?
Other than the smoothies my daily diet is pretty healthy and consists mainly of a lot of chicken, salmon, vegetables, potatoes and 9 grain bread with a few sweets thrown in.
Once I've finished bulking and want to cut I'll probably reduce the oils to ~2 ml of each instead of 10.
So, I guess my question is do you think that these smoothies are particularly healthy or are my concerns warranted?
