Mini-cuts during breaks from the gym?

I am studying abroad currently and lifting here, I am planning a 2-3 week travel back to my home country in February. Clearly, I won't be able to go to the gym then. Is it a good idea to go on a minicut during this period? Mostly to feel better after I come back, is it possible to lose muscle in this period? I am sure that I can lose 3-4lbs of fat, though.
