I have started following the Jim Wendler 5/3/1 program and he recommends eating 100g carbs or more each meal (at least 4 meals per day) as well as 30 to 50 grams of protein per meal to bulk. On top of that, each meal I should have 50 grams of whey protein with milk. So at max, that is 200g of protein from food and 200 more from whey protein.
I am 162 lbs at the moment.
My question is, is all that protein bad for you? I have been getting sinus headaches in the back of my head and temple area since following this plan but that maybe from sinus issues and a kink in my neck from sleeping wrong. I have also read too much protein can cause kidney stones and is bad for your kidneys. Not sure what is true and what is not.
I am gaining weight regularly from this plan. More so in my gut but I understand that is a side effect of bulking.
