I don't get it, We have been going to the gym and do a similar workout routine yet he has been able to gain much more muscle than i have (I am 30 years old and he is 35 years old), We are both about the same height (5'6), I weight 173 Pounds and he weights 195 pounds @ 5'6, We have very similar strength, I can do heavier deadlifts and squats while he is stronger in bench press and back exercises.
His upper frame is huge! He has to wear extra large shirts (even though he is only 5'6) because his back and arms are so big that nothing else will fit, I on the other hand can still get away with wearing medium size shirts.
Does this just come down to genetics or body type? Can anyone give any input?
I have attached a picture of me and one of my friend, I blurred out his face for his privacy.
