I was for a good 8 months starting at 10% body fat doing a 40 protein/40 carb /20 fat split trying to bulk while lifting eating 2790 cals a day. Maintenance for me seemed to be around 2k. I gained about 12 pounds during that time maybe going up 3% in body fat. I was advised on this board that the progress was too slow. I should have gained almost double the weight in that time frame.
After some reading (there is a lot of mixed advice out there) I switched to a 30 Protein/50 carb/20 fat split since July. I gained 4 pounds in that month and now at almost the end of August, I am 16% body fat. I climbed up about 3% in almost 2 months. My lifts have not increased much, some but not a lot (I am doing Fierce 5) so now I think my strategy is off and I am just getting fat. I really need some good advice on how to properly bulk. My TDEE is 2408.
The nutrition part I have down pat, lean meats and protein, stay away from packaged foods etc. I do pasta, oatmeal, bananas, and rice for some of my carbs.
