I was doing meat-based ketogenic diet for years, and 3 weeks ago... I've introduced carbs because I know I don't want to eat meat only for my entire life.
Currently eating:
-White Rice
-Home Made Bone Broth (random organ/ vegetables thrown in there)
-Meat (mostly Beef, Pork, Chicken, Turkey... maybe fish 1-2 a week due to costs)
-Avocado or Banana on some occasions.
-Occasional Home made electrolyte drink with apple cider vinegar, lime juice, and cheap electrolyte supplements thrown in there (mag, pot, sod, water).
I pretty much like eating the same stuff everyday, I don't get bored.
My goal is to burn fat, and gain some muscle/strength.
I workout 5 days a week, physically active job and a little bit of HIIT/Cardio.
I will start tracking actual macros/calories soon.... just wanted to see how my body would react to carbs since I've not really had any for years.
In 3 weeks my deadlift went up a ridiculous amount (100+ lbs). The only changes I made was adding carbs and quitting caffeine. I'd like some suggestions on how to improve my diet?
1. What foods should I add to it, if any?
2. What supplements do you recommend?
3. When should I eat my food? (I don't know anything about carb/carb timings.)
4. Does adding vegetables/organs put a lot of the nutrients into my broth, even though I'm discarding the vegetables/organs to the animals after its cooked?
