Am on intermittent fasting (20:4). Recently I decided to switch my workouts to the morning. I go to work from 10am - 7pm. Gym opens at 7am so I train fasted from 7am-8:30am and then leave for work. I eat my last meal the day before at 9PM but I only eat my first meal at 3pm during lunch (the next day) and I dont want to break my fasted state right after by eating in the 'anabolic window' an hour after 7am workout. I prefer to keep my energy levels up throughout the day and eating during a short 4 hour window does this. If I eat protein or calories to 'refuel' after right after the morning workout I won't get the effects of IF and will feel really tired during the day (personally this is what I found).
Will waiting 5 -6 hours for the first meal after a workout (training fasted) be metabolic or does the fasted state preserve muscle and continue ketosis?
