I made a account just to ask this question. A lot of people would simply answer, "NO!" but my situation is a little more complicated for me to understand.
I am 31 years-old, at 5'9" weighing in at 140 pounds. Which is underweight for my age and height. My BMI should be 128 to 162 lbs. And I work out at least 4-6 times a week, doing a lot of HIIT and weight training within the comforts of my own home.
Many of my friends and family has teased me over how skinny I am, especially when I'm tempted to consume anything considered "unhealthy". Over the past couple years, I've developed a strong distaste for junk food and anything that is packed with fats. You can say I've beome a bit "paranoid". But despite how healthy I've been trying to be, I have seen barley any real results with hardly any muscle definition on my body. After much frustration, I did some research and it sounds like I should be eating more and taking in more protein as if I haven't been already. Well, easier said than done. Because another factor for me is, I have high metabolism. As You know, that makes it more difficult for me to gain weight.
A lot of these work out programs tell You to keep a clean, healthy diet but I'm not so sure anymore. As much as I eat already, its not doing me very much good. Should I eat more "junk food" to gain weight and gain muscle mass? Thanks!
