I've been on two lean bulks to-date, both in 2019, both times going for a 300 calorie surplus while consistently weight training. Both bulks lasted about 4 months and resulted in 10-11lb of weight gained, which was pretty much what I was shooting for. Both times I would estimate about half of the gains were fat, which was more than I was hoping for. Both times I ate a mostly healthy diet with the following macros:
300g carbohydrates
130g fats
175g protein
This is the kind of diet I prefer to eat, enjoy the most and find easiest to stick to. After listening to a few podcasts and reading a few articles, I'm wondering if I might get leaner gains eating a diet higher in carbs and lower in fats? I've tried making a daily meals plan on MFP with 450g carbs, 90g fats, but am really struggling to get the carbs higher without going over on fats (and protein, but I'm not so concerned about that).
Aside from weight-gainer shakes and dextrose, I'd be grateful for some tips on how to increase my carb intake while keeping fats under control.
