To carb or not to carb

So I’ve started trying to loose some pork, get toned and build some muscle. I’m trying to get some fat off first and foremost and I recently came across the concept of Atkins and Keto as ways to boost weight loss (they are of course considered by many as fad diets)

Anyway I’ve given it a go over the past few days and as far as I can see it’s not been too bad from a normal day to day energy point of view.

What I did notice however was that my performance in the gym was significantly impacted but not for the better. I’m also struggling with the limitations of what I can eat. Sure high fat and lots of meat sounds great but given how much stuff (including just fruit) contains carbs that on a diet like that the limitations mean if i did do it longer term, I’d really struggle to enjoy it.

What’s your thoughts? Should I lower, reduce remove carbs? Or is there a more sustainable and effective way without killing my performance and making my taste buds bored?
