Sudden hunger even though I eat the same thing everyday....

So I’ve been eating the same thing everyday, monday-sunday with the exception of the occasional burger or slice of pizza.

Breakfast
Cereal and milk

Lunch
Steak
Rice
Half an avocado
Whole grain bread

Dinner
Salmon
Quinoa

Before bed
Yogurt and cottage cheese

I throw the occasional banana and fruit here and there

Total of 2500 cals and 210g of protein

Yeah it might not be the best diet, but I’ve already lost 20lbs from it and keep seing results in my waist and at the gym

I always measure my food, but latelly I’ve been hungry as hell, when before It would keep me satisfied which is weird because I’ve been eating this for a while now, on top of that I’ve lost weigh, so I thought a smaller me would be easier to fill up.

Any ideas why this might be?

Conflicting calories about white rice

When i looked up the calories for 100 grams white rice, google results showed 130 calories.
When i looked it up on myfitnesspal, it said roughly the same.
I usually eat 200 grams of white rice every other day (weighed it after it was cooked). Thinking i only ate around 260 calories worth of rice.

But now i actually looked up the labels on the packaging, and it says 100 gram of rice is 365 calories.
So i basically have been eating a ton more calories than i thought.
The only thing i can do now is measure how many grams of uncooked rice i normally put in instead of weighing once it's cooked.
But i think rice really isn't that calorie friendly as i thought.

I still made great cutting results, but if this is how many calories rice really has, then i think i'm better off sticking to potatoes for dinner.

compare A and B: A diets, 1000 Cal/day. B increases food intake, lifts, does aerobic

Hi,

We are considering a male with a resting Base Metabolic Rate and normal exercise around 2000 Calories per day. That is his maintenance level. He is at 18% bodyfat. He is 5'10" and weighs 183 lbs.

Compare what happens after 60 days of A and B.

A.

For A, we consider that he does a drastic nearly starvation diet: only 1000 Calories per day. Obviously on the first day he will be at a -1000 Calorie deficit. But what about after 60 days?

B.

For B, we consider that he does a lean bulk with aerobic: he will actually *increase* his food intake, from 2000 to 2500 Calories! However, he begins each morning, on an empty stomach, by doing cardio, and then also does 5x5 after a short rest. His aerobic program is very long: he burns 1500 Calories and is very hungry. He's pretty weak from hunger for the lifts that come after, but that is not very important. After his lifts he chows down on protein and food, and through the rest of the day eats 2500 Calories, including plenty of protein. He does this for 60 days.

What is the effect in your opinion after 60 days on A and B?

(My guess is as follows: A sees great fat loss in the first 5-10 days, and isn't even that hungry. Actually shortly thereafter, lacking any form of exercise, his body starts ditching his muscles. His basal metabolic rate slows to a crawl - and he's lethargic, too - and basically ends the 60 days skinny fat. While he's thinner than he started, he looks a lot worse.

My guess for B is that this is an awesome program: every day the pounds absolutely shed off, in the beginning he's losing 2 lbs of pure fat per week. His gains are pretty slow, since his body doesn't know what to do. However, overall he does end up with a bit more muscle after 60 days than he started with. Having lost so much fat, though, he is absolutely ripped. He looks like a model.)

Okay, now your guesses.

Need convenient meals

I need something that tastes good because I've tried cooking and its always horrible. I mostly eat csnned tuna, greek yogurt, rice meals along with a meal from dennys. Would buying the rotisserie iven make my food taste better or is threre a heslthy restaurant meal out there? I just cant cook to save my life. Only thing I can cook is rice, cornmeal, and bacon. I can't even cook eggs, I just drink them. I'm horrible at cooking so I hope there is hope for me. I mix greek yogurt with tuna for protein because that tastes better than the meat that I cook... idk what I'm doing wrong, every meal tastes horrible like shyte. Are there restraunts in ohio that are good for bodybuilding? Also I eat a serving of beef jerky and bacon from time to time as protein meal. I cant cook, idk what to do anymore. Prison food tastes better than my cooking. Canned meat tastes better than my food. I need some alternative options

Its also a lactose free powder mixed with water, i'm hoping if I stick through this uncomfortable phase my body will just adapt and this will go away.

Winter Bulk Time - Advice?

Time to start the Winter Bulk - CLEAN BULK.

Starting weight will be 182
Goal weight will be about 192-195

Nov 1st 2019 Start date.
March 14th 2020 End Date.

So here's my issue. I struggle to eat food.
Most days i eat 2 meals a day. No-where near good enough for bulking.

Currently eating about 2400 Cals a day. Maintenance is about 2700 a day for me.

Is there any tips you use to increase intake calories faster? - Week 1 first thing to do is up to maintenance at least.
Normally Fast from 8pm - 1pm next day. I think if i cut that & add 2 meals in for then - It'll help.

When i wake up - My body just doesn't want to consume calories. So need something 'light' to kick start the hunger.
Any tips for making your body crave food in the mornings after years of having that 'fasted' window??

first time cutting, made a mistake counting the calories.

hey guys, it's my first time posting here so please pardon any mistakes.
so I have been working out for around a year now didn't really track what I was eating. am at 90 kgs at a height of 6feet.
so I got around to counting my calories and macros for a cut.
used a tdee to get my maintenance calorie at around 2200. started a cut with 2000 calories.
I use an app in which I input the weight of my meal or serving and it puts out the amount of calorie and carbs , protein or fats in it.
long story short, for the last 10 days I was weighing my oats after cooking them with the app, which gives the nutritional value of oats before cook.
so I was counting the nutritional value of 200 to 250 Gms of oats a day , while it was just around 40 to 50 gms. which after checking meant that I am at around 1500\1600 calories a day instead of 2000.
so it's been 10 days and although there has been a dip in strength it's not really bad.
so should I increase my caloric intake back to 2000 and then start gradually going down, or should I stick to 1600 a day.
I am afraid about hitting a plateau or just loosing too much muscle mass before getting to my goal.any input or advice would be really helpful .

again sorry for the long post and any mistakes I made.

How do I break this? Keep strength training, maintain protein and cut calories further? or up the calorie (to what?) and the strength training? Will I add more fat mass?

Timing

I am new to working out and nutrition, so I have been trying to do some research but there seems to be so many different ways to do it. I was just curious on a couple different things.

1. Does when you eat your protein matter? For example, if I ate all my required protien in the morning could I eat none in the evening and be fine or should I try to spread it out? I have been trying to spread it out my protein and on the days I workout I try to eat more protein around my workout time. I just didn't know if I was worrying over nothing and macros matter only in a more daily basis?

2. Kind of similar to the last point, intermittent fasting. I heard from some people is that it is just a way of eating and it wont really effect weight loss or muscle gain. Is that true? It just makes me nervous that fasting for x hours could make me lose muscle. Also, I have heard for a long time skipping breakfast is bad for you, increased risk for diabetes, etc.

I have been eating clean foods such as wheat bread/pasta/rice, turkey, chicken, yogurt, fruit, veggies, etc. but sometimes also I add in a pop tart or chocolate milk just to get my calories up. I was wondering if its ok to eat clean and a little unclean on a bulk if everything fits into your macros. Thanks!

Opinion on mechanically separated meat?

I saw a deal on chicken nuggets in my grocery store, 20 pieces for only $1.50 so i decided to buy some since i love the nuggets at mcdonalds (although barely ever eat there due to being on a diet).
I figured if i simply oven bake these nuggets and fit them in my macros, it wouldn't be that bad.

However when i got home and read the label, it said 55% separated meat. Of course the other 45% are fillings like flour and additives etc which i don't mind much.
But the separated meat got me curious so i googled it. Turns out, it's all the left over scraps that normally i wouldn't even eat myself, forced off the bones.
Sometimes with bits of bones included etc, grinded up into a white paste.
After reading this, i sure lost my appetite for the nuggets i just bought. I looked up if mcdonald nuggets are made of the same type (cuz i hate being a hypocrite and eat there and not the ones from the store), but they claim they use chicken breast meat only.

Should i just take the dollar fifty loss and throw them out, or should i ignore it and just eat it?
I still eat hot dogs as well and i can only imagine what crap they're made of. It's just that ignorance is bliss and unfortunately i read up about separated meat.

Best vegetables to eat for best nutrition?

Ive been working out for 6 months and I noticed my meal plan doesnt have any kind of vegetable at all. I am running a bulking diet with all the right macronutrients but I haven't considered the importance of micronutrients and vitamins because I had been too busy working out what works for the macros and forgot about it. I've heard people say they have more energy in general throughout the day after sticking with their proper eating. In particular Im trying to add something that isn't inconvenient to the point where I have to go and buy more every week, and something I can store and easily make without a long lengthy process.

Bulking with Whole 30

What are some meals you can eat while bulking if you wanna do Whole 30 at the same time?

Do you have any experience doing this or know anyone who has? Did it hinder them from gaining?

I wanna stop eating garbage and experiencing intense fatigue/emotional ups and downs, but while bulking.

Krill Oil vs. Fish Oil? Which is Better?

I have been looking into taking omega 3s. I keep stumbling across the Krill Oil vs. Fish Oil Topic. Both Krill Oil and Fish Oil are beneficial for your health. There are definitely some key differences between the two. Krill Oil does seem to be more beneficial as its more easily absorbed, more stable than fish oil, and contains Astaxanthin which is one of the strongest antioxidants out there. Here is a good article explaining the two and the health benefits of omega 3: heliossupplements.com/pages/krill-oil-vs-fish-oil

Anyone have some advice or preferences for either one?

Diet help for a novice. can i cut with mainly protein shakes?

I'm 6'1 about 240 22 years old. I want to start working out again and dieting to get myself down to around 200. I was wondering if I could reach my goal by eating 1 or 2 meals a day and drinking protein shakes i was thinking 5 scoops split between 2 shakes and adding some blueberry, kale and almond milk to the shakes. 550 calories 0g fat 5g carb 0g sugar 125g in protein powder. I would probably eat oatmeal with turkey bacon for breakfast and switch up the other meal depending on the mood. Would i be taking too much protein powder? I was thinking about taking so much protein powder because I get full very easily, most of my calories come from drinking milk I burn through at least 2 gallons every 3 days.

Meal Prep Help!!!

HI there everyone, my name is Mary and I am new to tracking my macros and actually putting them into a prepped meal plan. I've tracked macros before and had great results but lately I have been overwhelmed with trying to plan out my meals. I'm a full time student. I am very busy during the week but I do make time to work out beside my mandatory PT in the morning. I would like to see my hard work turn into results by meal prepping and making healthy food available for myself throughout the day so I don't just grab what is convenient. Any advice on how to select foods? I'm trying to go the 40-30-30 route as that's what's worked well for me before. If you have and techniques or advice please let me know! I just don't know how to plan everything for a week. I feel like im overthinking it... Thank you!
