Central procurement agency orders 350 million Nirodh condoms after negotiations held last month

The Central Medical Services Society (CMSS) in India has awarded tenders for 350 million condoms, despite delays in procurement. The agency failed to procure condoms in a timely manner, affecting the country's family planning programme. The All India Condom Manufacturer Association, which includes companies manufacturing condom brand Nirodh, had criticized CMSS's handling of procurement, having cancelled two condom tenders twice in 2023.
