I'm very new to fitness and recently started counting my macronutrient intake in grams. When I look at examples of high fat meats, the protein almost always seems to be higher, and It's very hard to find something that would raise my fats without also massively raising protein or carbs. Since fats consist of 9 calories per gram as apposed to 4 like carbs and proteins, are macro ratios referring calories from or grams? For example; if you had a plate with 100 grams of macronutrients; 55g are carbs, 25g are fat, and 20g are protein. Is that the same as a 55-25-20 diet, or does it refer to the percentage of calories from fat?
