Where could I have gone wrong??

I’m a 5’6 ft male use to weigh around 165 and am now down to 147. I’m just having a hard time noticing if I’m losing fat or just muscle at this point. Im eating around 1700 cals and around 140 g of protein atm. My strength is shot down to dust lol honestly very sad to see ( struggling with even 185 on bench after previously doing reps 225). I do a PPL split now and back then I was doing 5/3/1 bbb. Can you guys help me stop overthinking this how would you guys rate my progress should I keep on going and losing lbs or gain some muscle back etc ?

https://imgur.com/a/MzLEa7D

Could I have cut to hard and too long. After looking I may have only been getting 1400 on my work days ( same meal everyday / protein snake ) weekends more around the 2k mark. Could this have affected my muscle? I was eating 1900 back then

How long can I stay on a caloric

Hey everyone!

Hope you are all well :)

I've been on a caloric deficit ever since November last year. I've been able to really shred and see really good results!

I would like to stay lean.

i'm: 173 cm tall and weighting around 62 or 63kg, showing some muscle definition.

I'm consuming between 1450 and 1550 calories a day. I workout hard and heavy 5 days a week.

I understand that if I increase my calories up to my maintenance, weight gain shouldn't happen. But would the muscle definition be lost?

Please let me know

thank you! :)

Carb cycling question

Hi all,

I am currently in a weight loss phase and am looking for a bit of advice in regards to carb cycling.
I currently have a good diet nailed and am losing 1-2 ponds per week but want to get a carb cycling protocol ready for when I plateaux so I have somewhere to go.

My current macros are a 40/40/20 split C/P/F

I would like to add a couple of low carb days in when needed to aid in fat loss…my question is what do the macros look like on those days?

Should I go 20/50/30 so in theory halving my carbs and adding both fats and protein or would you leave the fat the same and replace with protein only so more of a 20/60/20

Be interested in different views.
Thanks in advance.

Can you cook hush puppies like pancakes?

Had grilled salmon and hushpuppies for dinner last night. Tonight I'll cook the other half of the salmon and the other half of the hush puppy mix.

Problem is that I left my cast iron skillet for cooking the hush puppies on the side burner of my grill out all night, and we got about 3/4" of rain and there were bugs floating around in the oil. I'm all out of oil.

Can I cook the hush puppy batter like it was a pancake?

Quick and EASY cutting meal prep meals?

What are some quick and more importantly easy to make meal prep meals? I am trying to start cooking more but I never really have tried to cook much before myself.... I only have one recipe I can make (lemon garlic chicken) and although really good, I get bored of it twice a day every day. So what are some easy to make meals I can learn and use?

Cursed with terrible lower stomach genetics.

I’m a 5’8 135 pound female trying to bulk
up to around 145-150. I started my fitness journey weighing in at 125 pounds (which is underweight) and still have always had a “pouch” specifically on the lower stomach. Right now i gained around 10 pounds and have a somewhat visible upper ab area but my lower abs just look terrible. Is there anything that can solve this or am I just truly cursed with terrible ab genetics? Idk if this helps but i am almost always bloated as well. I do eat a good amount of carbs and get around 80-100 oz of water a day.

Weight Loss After Hospital Stay

This doesn't really change my plan but I'm curious. I spent a week in the hospital most of which was on a liquid only diet. I was getting maybe 200 calories a day on a good day. The days prior I was also not eating much. Once I got out I noticed I only dropped about 4 pounds and have since been eating over maintenance with some comfort foods. Now that I got that out I'm going to be eating around maintenance while the dust settles until I can get back in the gym hopefully about a week from now. Thing is, despite my current eating habits, I'm still dropping over a pound a day. I expected it to continue a few days later but I'm now on day 5 post release and there's no end of the loss in sight even with quite a large surplus the days immediately following being released.

Any idea on how long it typically takes before things start to reverse and my weight starts to settle? I was on a cut before this and I hit my goal weight this morning but obviously not in the way I wanted to. Going to have to see how I look in a few weeks to decide what I want to do.

Shiitake mushrooms. This was the last item on the list, so it's not competing against another.

According to Healthline, shiitake mushrooms contain polysaccharides, terpenoids, sterols, and lipids, which have been linked to having cholesterol-lowering and anti-cancer effects.

Yay or nay?

Barley vs Turkey breast

Barley is a top source of beta-glucan, a fiber that lowers cholesterol and helps control blood sugar. I like my barley with hops and water.

Turkey breast has 34 grams of satisfying protein, but just 167 calories per 4-oz serving. I like to wash down my turkey breast with some barley ^^^.

3. Rainbow Roll. I had this one for the first time recently (I usually stick to more basic styles), but man, it's basically a Cali roll but with added sushi on top. Very solid!
