So I look pretty decent at the moment, I have decent muscle mass but lack that summer time definition. I'm targeting putting on some additional solid mass plus achieving 12 - 13% body fat within 2 months (by 1 July). Originally, I planned to bulk up in May and then cut down in June, and envisaged by workout/cardio regiments accordingly.
From a nutrition perspective, I planned to up my intake to 3000+ calories throughout May, and then bring it down to 2300 or 2400 for June. However, my gym trainer proposed an alternative, he told me not to change anything about my nutrition, and to keep my intake in the 2400-2600 range with high protein intake. In my mind, this sounds exactly like a recomposition diet. But knowing im already trained and that my body fat isn't too high, I question whether it will work or not.

Why am i Gaining weight in a calorie deficit?

I just started working out again after 6 months after i had bicep tendonesis surgery for a torn bicep tendon. At the end of March, I was going to the gym regularly for a week or two, doing 3 x 30 min of cardio a week and working out 5 days a weeek for around 80 minutes. I was consuming around 130g of carbs, 76g fat and 240g of protein or so during this time and ate around 2080 calories. I was losing around .7-.8 lbs a week.
Easter kind of messed up my consistency.. But being back into it and very consistent, I am eating 2330 calories, 37g fat , 203g carbs and 301g of protein and i do 5x 45 min sessions of cardio a week and 70-80 min during my intense workouts… I went from 198.9 to 201.5 and as I have measured every other day, it keeps going up??! I’m confused. I also drink 1.75-2.25 gallons of water a day.
Is it possible the increased carbs are giving me water weight?, I am recomping or am i just not eating the right calories?
I track consistently and flawless, weighing and tracking meat cooked , as well as rice cooked ,oats raw, protein raw obvs, and eggs raw. So i’m joy seeing where I’m going wrong ..

Tips/Advices/Changes to my meals
Background:
My current stats are 220 lbs, 5'7, early 20's male with experience in doing cardio and weight training as a teenager.
I used to be about 180 lbs when I entered college. But after some situations and covid, I gained a lot of weight and didn't really work out since.
For the past couple of months i've been hitting the gym somewhat constantly with a not-so-consistent diet (I would say i kept to my diet 70% of the time)
My diet for the past year was to keep a balanced meal while very slowly lowering my calories but also enjoying foods. I didn't care much about calorie intake, I cared more about eating healthy and lowering the amount of food i eat.
I don't eat bad food, i just like to eat a lot of food.
I want to start an official cut. I have some knowledge and experience with diets, foods, meal plan, etc but would love more eyes on if I'm doing it correctly.
As for my workouts, i'm doing push, pull, leg, chest/back, shoulders/arms, hiking/biking/tennis, and rest (sunday).
I do cardio at around 4 times a week. I started slowly but i'm currently doing 20 minutes of either incline, cycling, or stairmaster after push,pull, check/back, and shoulders/arm day.
As for my cut diet, I've been doing it for about a month now and seeing some progress but would love to know if something can be changed:
Meal 1 (breakfast): ~420 cal/ 34g P
80g of oatmeal + 1 scoop of protein
Meal 2 (lunch): ~450 cal/ 50g P
220g of chicken + 150g of Rice + vegetables (either broccoli, zucchini, or lettuce) p.s i love vegetables
Meal 3 (preworkout meal, i workout at 5:30 everyday so i eat this around 4-4:30): ~350 cal/ 50g P
220g of chicken + 100g of Rice + vegetables
After workouts, i take shake with some protein, creatine, greens, other supplements (like fiber, glutamine). about 150 calories and 25g of protein.
I'm usually busy when i get home after the gym so i don't have time to eat and decided after shake that i don't eat till next morning.
So overall around 1400 calories and around 160g of protein. Carbs for the day are about 100g and fats are low (mostly from chicken). (i also just recently found out that you don't need to eat 1g of protein per body weight so i've reduce the amount of protein i eat a day from 200g to 160g)
So yes this is very low on calories but also I'm hitting my protein and carb mark. I'm not crazy tired or hungry everyday. This diet has been working for me and for me personally, i can eat the same things every day. it doesn't bother me or make me go crazy. The only thing i'm worried about is that i'm not getting enough calories in. I'm trying to lose fat but maintain my muscle.

I have done a lot of reading about optimal protein intake for hypertrophy, ranging from .8 g per kg of body weight to more extreme amounts at 2 g per pound. Some sources even indicate a set amount of protein based off of lean body mass, which makes sense (although I don’t know the science behind it).
For some time I was attempting to get .8 g of protein per an estimated lean body mass of 160 lb, resulting in 128 g of protein per day. However, I found myself very dehydrated even with significant water consumption. Dry lips, occasional light headedness, and excessive flatulence followed.
How, I wonder, do people consume so much protein and be okay? Any insight on the matter would be greatly appreciated!

Pune-based Gennova Biopharmaceuticals had submitted data to the drug regulator this month, amid an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases. Mushy poops everyday
90% of the time my poops are a big pile of mush and it takes forever to wipe. Sometimes ill be constipated and it will be like small jagged pieces. Rarely I will have a normal dump.
Water intake - moderate
Vitamins - multi, vita d, creatine
Water upon waking
Coffee w/ sugar and alm. Milk sweetener
Meal 1 - 3 eggs, bagel w/ jelly, cereal/granola/grits
Rest of meals (4 or 5 in total) throughout the day include either chicken, salmon, steak or white fish.
With mainly white rice, a baked potato(with dairy free chz and butter), or pasta. Also some avocado, coconut oil, alm. Butter, salsa, or olive oil. I don't eat many veggies or fruits. Usually a banana once a day. Maybe some carrots or mushrooms. 1 Glass of orange juice or fruit juice with meals. "Cheat meals" include sushi, burgers, and Mexican food mostly. This is most of the things I can think of that I eat on a regular basis. And in general my digestion is poor. It sucks cause I feel like I'm losing nutrients from the food I eat. Every day I track my meals, calories, weight and digestion. I could use some guidance because I'm constantly taking foods out or trying different things like no dairy but nothing really seems to help. Im willing to try anything. It sucks because training is great but i'm 170lbs 6ft which is more than I used to weigh but its already hard to bulk up but when I wake up and take a big mushy dump its really unmotivating to keep getting my meals in. is there something wrong with me?
i have been doing a cut from january 27th till now. for the month of april i have been eating 660 calories a day. 18 oz tuna split in to 3 meals. i feel hungry at night when im in bed, but i can still sleep on it.
i am 5'8 175 before the cut. now i am 5'8 160. i train 5 days a week and 6 days of cardio.
my everyday schedule is:
7am wake up. lay in bed till 9am then get up.
9am cook 6oz tuna and eat it for an hour.(if i eat it fast, im afraid i'll be hungry faster.)
10am heading to the gym. with training and cardio(rowing machine 30 minutes burn 300 calories)
12:30pm finish workout and cardio. heading home.
1pm cook 6oz tuna. eat for an hour.
2pm-5pm gaming on the computer.
5pm 6oz tuna. eat for an hour.
6pm in bed. looking on my phone.
10pm lights out. sleep.
i am just very confused how i am able to feel fine on an extreme low calorie for almost a month. i never heard anyone who is training in the gym doing a 600 calorie diet even for pre contest.

Manipal Health Enterprises plans to add 12-14 hospitals to its network in five years
Singapore's Temasek-owned Manipal Health Enterprises plans to add 12 to 14 hospitals with approximately 4,000 beds to its network in the next five years, says company MD and CEO Dilip Jose. Plans for the expansion include both acquisitions and greenfield development and the hospitals will be built primarily in locations in which Manipal has already established a presence. With backers and investors, funding is unlikely to be an issue for the company, according to Jose. Last week Manipal Health was valued at about INR400bn ($5.72bn) following a majority stake purchase by Temasek.

Experiences with Carnivore diet?
Just wondering if anyone could share some thoughts/feedback of their experience trying this before? I'm considering trying it for maybe a month. I know someone who claims he lost about 30 pounds in about a month eating very large portions of food (animal/protein products of course).......seems to me that this would be impossible--although I've never done any research on this diet before--just starting to now. Could anyone else share their experience on this type diet? I've let myself go a little bit (not terribly bad, but I'm not happy with where I'm at), and I'm trying to find a quick way to get back to my normal physique and then go back to my typical diet to maintain from there on. Pfizer bivalent vaccine reduces Covid-related death risk by 68% in older people: Study
5,69,519 eligible participants were identified between September 27, 2022, and January 25, 2023. Of those, 1,34,215 (24 per cent) participants received a bivalent mRNA booster vaccination during the study period. Hospitalisation due to COVID-19 occurred in 32 participants who received a bivalent mRNA booster vaccination and 541 who did not receive a bivalent booster vaccination. Analysis showed this to mean a 72 per cent reduction in hospitalisation risk in those receiving the bivalent booster.

Covid & flu: Sales of respiratory, anti-infective drugs shoot up
"We have seen a sharp rise in the sales of drugs like paracetamol, analgesics and drugs for respiratory illnesses," said Rajiv Singhal, general secretary, All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD). According to the report, sales of anti-infectives surged to ₹2,061 crore and those of respiratory drugs increased to ₹1,579 crore.
