Maximum fat loss per week?

What is the maximum amount of fat one can lose, by fasting and exercising? I'm calculating it to be 2.32 lbs / week (not including added muscle gains).

I'm reading an NIH article titled "A limit on the energy transfer rate from the human fat store in hypophagia" by Seymour S Alpert dated 2005. The article states that subjects with moderate activity levels are found to have a limit on maximum energy transfer rate from human fat stores of 290 kJ / kg body fat. This results in 31 kcal / lbs body fat.

Are these number accurate? Do the numbers increase during high intensity activity/exercise? If so, does anyone know how to find such values?

These values suggest that a 185 lbs person can only transfer 860 kcal of energy out of their adipose fat stores per day. It also suggests if an average 2592 kcal deficit results in 1 lbs of weight loss, then the maximum weight loss of fat adipose for this person would be 2.32 lbs / week. This value is the limit before weight loss comes from muscle or other tissue.
