Trying to find a suitable protein powder I can stomach...

Hi all,

So I'm starting on a fitness journey at the age of 42 (never too late right?), after having not really worked out at all from my 20s. Back then I could suck down whatever protein shake I could afford and deal with it, but as I've gotten older part of what has been a barrier is the taste of protein I injest. Yes, I can do steak/chicken etc, but I never eat enough (though I am sure that will have to change) in raw protein to make up for the needed amount when working out.

My wife bought home the Fairlife Protein pack from Costco on a whim, and I tried the Chocolate and then went and got a few Vanilla from the grocery store. It's phenomenal tasting. But given that it's all individual, ready to serve, with a lot of waste in bottles, I was curious if there is a similar tasting vanilla and chocolate to what Fairlife makes. Ideally mixed with water, but if it has to be milk I'm fine with that as well.

Taste is probably the most important thing to me given that I've tried Optimum Nutrition and a bunch of others, and almost thrown up. What I could stomach when I was younger I no longer can. Cost and accessibility are also a question -- if there are samples that you can point me to where I'm not buying a 5lb tub and having it go to waste, that would be great as well. And lastly, ease of preparation -- if I have to do anything other than put it into a shaker bottle, it's going to be problematic for me as well. Preferably water mix to keep the calories down but again -- open to suggestions here.

I may be missing a lot in what I'm asking, so please ask me to clarify... again, I'm just starting back up after almost 20 years of not doing much of anything, so whatever tips/trips/suggestions you may have for a guy with three kids and family made meals would be ideal.

Thanks!
