Nutrition for Hashimoto's

For the past year, I have had elevated serum thyroid antibodies. Historically (2+ years ago) I never tested by antibody levels, and my T3/4 and Free T3/4 were always fine, as was my TSH. I say that because it's possible my antibodies have always been elevated, I just didn't know it/didn't show any effect on my thyroid hormone levels.

Fast-forward to the beginning of last year, and I have elevated antibodies, and borderline low T3/Free T3.... and I'm trying to figure out ways to mitigate the risk of long term damage.

After doing some research, I recognize many things from my past likely contributed to this:

- History of restrictive eating/anorexia
- Family history (mom's side... she also had Hashimoto's AFTER also having Grave's disease when she was younger)... she now takes exogenous therapy for it
- General stress/anxiety

Also, after doing some digging, I believe I am in a somewhat earlier stage of the disease as my T3/T4 isn't completely tanked... but it's definitely not optimal; my TSH is still normal.

Apparently, as Hashimoto's is an auto-immune disease, there are potential interactions with common allergens in effected people, and going on an elimination phase might help get levels down.

Some of the suggestions I have heard, in order of their likely interactions include

1. Gluten
2. Dairy
3. Soy
4. Nightshades
5. FODMAPS

Basically... tasty stuff.

I'm just curious if anyone here has also had Hashimoto's, and if reducing or removing any of the above items had any effect.

I'm REALLY not keen on doing any kind of restriction given my history with eating disorders, but I also want to reduce my antibodies if I can...

Thanks.
