count drac

I'm 5'11 roughly 165-170 lb.if I want my abs to show do I have to count macros? I usually eat alot of carbs(rice oats bread tatos) proteins and fats, can I just eat alot of proteins and fats? Or is that not how it works.

After doing some more reading it seems I must be in a caloric deficit.
Question- are you guy really eating 4oz of meat per meal? I read that's how much is in like 25 grams of protein of chicken.... I eat probably triple that per meal i I had to guess. Not neccesary?
