Snacking in between meals

I was wondering what can I snack on in between meals. Like I could eat avocados all day they have great protein and good fat but I read that you should eat 1 a day, I could do that in between meals I guess and I could snack on grapes, but what about almonds? What can I snack on imbetween snacks. I wonder because I know your supposed to eat every 2 or 3 hours to keep ur macros in check but what I'm really wondering is, is it safe to eat in between meals or does that mess up stuff likebprotein synthesis, would it throw it off track and confuse ur body? Like say you eat tuna fish for meals, and then you eat am avocado before your next meal, would that mess up how your body registers protein intake or what not..
