Apparently companies around the world are creating salmon fillets and other protein products from the cells of the fish that are identical from a nutrition and taste standpoint to the actual thing. Apparently, the terms "cell-based" or "cell-cultured" appeal the most to consumers. I like the idea of sustainable seafood and perhaps meat in the future, but I've gotta be honest, the whole idea sketches me out a bit. I'm not quite sure if I'm onboard just yet. I also personally don't find the phrase "cell-cultured fish" particularly appetizing. I'd much rather call it peacefish, nufish, or wokefish or something...honestly anything less "clinical". What do you all think?
