Post workout protein - benefit ?

Hello ! I want to ask about protein shake post workout. Im using whey protein daily, but only to oats etc. never alone. I never used whey as post workout shake, but i started visiting near gym (i always trained at home) and here literally everyone is drinking protein shake right after workout. My question is, if its somehow benefical for muscle growth, or it does not matter if i hit my daily protein goal ?

I have oats+milk+protein like 1-2 hours before my workout and then i have rice+meat again 1-2 hours after my workout. Will it be benefical to have protein (20g of protein from whey) right after workout ? Thanks
