Ayushman Bharat scheme uptake low for Covid-19 as states make treatment free

The Ayushman Bharat scheme provides free healthcare to the poor and up to Rs 5 lakh per annum to each family in a private hospital. The Centre included Covid-19 in its list of allowed treatment packages at the beginning of the pandemic.
