is it good to get your bloodsugar/insulin high as a kite after workout?

i was wondering whether it was the higher the better, like is it good to eat 6-8tbsp of dextrose or brown rice syrup post workout? or does sending it that high just cause insulin resistance and no extra muscle gain compared to a more modest insulin boost.
