Hi, I’ve got a question. This is quite a long post so bare with me.
I’ve been trying to figure out how to loose weight properly which is a lot harder then I expected. I’m either 6’1 or 6’3 can’t remember lol let’s say 6’2 I weigh 205lb. I’ve had all different maintenance calorie quotes from multiple sites which just confuses me further, the number that I get the most is around 3000 give or take. So what I’ve noticed which is really confusing is if I eat clean I find it hard to eat maintenance and I end up so full and bloated and start putting on weight, but if I throw in dirty foods I can eat over 4000kls easy with pizza Pringles etc and weight will stay around the same why is that?
Secondly with creating a deficit when I bring my calories down to 2500 and below I literally feel my body slowing i.e digestion and start to feel bloated and flabby and the lower I go the more I feel like that, however when I’m eating around maintenance (3000) and above with some dirty foods thrown in I find my metabolism Rev right up to the point I’m crapping twice a day, like il eat and literally have to go toilet within half hour. It’s so confusing. When I cut calories down and eat majority clean I don’t feel hungry but my body looks and feels sluggish, it don’t feel like my body is burning fat, in the last couple weeks I’ve been eating around maintenance give or take a hundred calories either way and working out, and with this level of eating I’ve actually looked in the mirror and for the first time I looked how I wanted, I looked defined and stomach looked slimmer and just overall better, that lasted a day lol. When I eat a diet of health foods (rice chicken breast veg etc) and throw abit of dirty foods in and eat up to my so called maintenance cals my body revs up I even feel my tempature rise, one thing id like to mention for the last two weeks I’ve been eating around 3000kls, some days maybe 2700 some days 3200 and what normally happens is il go to bed and weigh about 206-207 and wake up back at 205, yesterday I ate 4200 kls and my weight remained the same the next day, I went sleep at 206.6 and woke up at 206.4 (bare in mind that’s dirty calories not a clean 4200kls)
Also I measure my stomach and it’s normally 37-37.5 inches round and have noticed even when I eat low calories like 2500 below it remains the same and has even sometimes gone up to 38 inches, and I think a week or two ago eating around 3000kls my waist measured 36. It’s like the less I eat the slower my metabolism works and the more stuffed I feel then I start eating more and boom my metabolism kicks off and il eat more food and still be hungry,
Could my maintenance be a lot higher then I think and when I eat below2500 my body starts slowing going into preservation mode or something, and when I’m at 3000 I’m actually at a deficit thinking I’m at maintenance?
But then the confusing part is about eating clean foods filling me up and putting on weight at like 2400k, it’s so weird and confusing but I’m determined to reach my goals so I’m using my body as a test subject to figure this out, any input on what could be going on is appreciated.
