Water

So I’ve got my diet down to a tee. I know my calories needed to gain 0.5 and to lose 2 pounds a week. I’m in the gaining phase and my calorie intake to gain 0.5 a week is 2770. I’m 5”8 140 right now. My thing is this when I’m 135 I can see my abs like crazy no problem and gaining just this 5 pounds they don’t pop as much and I’m on a slow bulk which is supposed to help keep cut longer. Protein is 150g and fat is 100g.

Typically I get a little more in protein because I like it. I’m hitting my minimums and my carbs are typically 250g or less never more. I’ve also come from eating low carb but I’ve been eating regular carb amounts for about a month and a half now.

This leads me to the weak spot in my diet. My choice of drinks. Everything I drink is 0 calories because it’s diet sodas or Regins which are 0 calorie energy drinks. I don’t drink water at all basically, I seriously can’t remember the last time I’ve really had just pure water. Could this be one of the reasons I don’t see my definition as much?

I know you only lose definition when you gain weight but if I’m not drinking any water basically I’m keeping the sodium in which will make you look bloated. Could the water thing seriously be the issue to why I don’t see my abs? Obviously on a cut I’m cutting carbs low on top of losing fat but I don’t think it’s the carbs. If anyone could help me I’d appreciate it
