I am about ready to start my lean bulk after about a year of lifting and recomping at a slight deficit. Prior to training I had no knowledge of macros and favored high carb, high fat food, eating lot of processed and fast food.
My question is, as long as I eat my macros, does the quality of carbs, simple vs complex, determine what my mass gain will look like on my body?
My carbs are 189g. If I chose to eat this through healthy sources like potatoes, oatmeal and brown rice instead of sugary processed foods that spike my sugar like bread, pancakes, and cake, would there be an aesthetic difference in the appearance and fat distribution in my body?
