
The ICMR said rapid antibody tests cannot replace frontline tests. Such tests are only supplementary tools to assess the prevalence of the disease within a specific area. These tests will be of utility only after a minimum of seven days of the onset of symptoms. Accuracy issues with the antibody tests may also have resulted in states going slow to procure them.
