Lets say I want 40% protein, 40% carb and 20% fat macro ratios and I want to consume 195 grams of protein a day.
Calculating by % of grams I get:
195 g Protein ~40% - 780 calories protein
195 g Carbs ~40% - 780 calories carbs
95 g Fat ~20% - 855 calories fats
2415 calories total
Calculating by % of calories: (Assume I still want 195 grams of protein per day and 40/40/20)
To do this I have to reduce my calories to 1950.....
1950 x 0.4 = 780/4 = 195 g protein
1950 x 0.4 = 780/4 = 195 g carbs
1950 x 0.2 = 390/9 = 43 g fats
As you can see I get two very different numbers for fat consumption. Which way is correct?
