So, its known that the body has its own way of burning calories over a 24 hour period, and depending on ones goals one may either be in a deficit, maintenance or surplus. If one one eats too little then they have a chance of losing muscle mass. This makes sense to me cause they are not supplying the necessary raw materials their body needs. Food has to be broken down and or supplements may need to be supplied when it doesn't get what it needs. So...eating beyond the bmr to sustain health, and getting ample exercise should be the goal. To burn through as much food as possible while not over-training? For example say one's bmr is 1800 calories and they get in a daily intake of 2300 calories, they meet all macro requirements but each day they burn through 1000+ calories using exercise, not including their body's way of burning calories, RMR, NEAT, TEF, etc... To lose fat you need to eat less by creating a caloric deficit with diet and training. Does one have to worry that they are burning through calories so much with exercise when they have already eaten all the calories they need for the day for health and goals? Won't it get broken down to give the body what it needs and that is the biggest thing. Who cares if one burns 1000+ calories, isn't that a good thing in this context as long as they are recovering and getting stronger in the gym?
