National case fatality rate dips to 2.84%, falls below 3% for first time since April 7

The Covid-19 case fatality rate (CFR) for India was 2.84% on Friday, for the first time below 3% in the last one-and-a-half months. The rate indicates the percentage of people who have died of the pandemic among the total number of people who have tested positive.
