Took a blood test 3 months ago (was doing a massive cut at like 1700 calories) and I didn't look at it until now. My total cholesterol was 182. My HDL was 49. My LDL was 115. VLDL Cholesterol Cal was 18. Triglyceride was 101. My triglyceride to HDL ratio is 2.1 which (according to the internet) means that I had some insulin resistance at the time.
Some things I wanted to note: I ate before this test. I was eating at a massive caloric deficit. My diet was very high protein (200g) and low carb and low fat. I was actually underweight (145 ibs, I'm 5'7) at the time of this test. During the cut I had no candy/fried food. I was doing a lot of cardio daily.
The part that has me worrying is that the only things that were high in cholesterol at that time (3 months ago) was probably the whey protein (and I took a lot of whey).
I'm currently lean bulking and eat foods that actually have genuine high cholesterol (3 whole eggs, whole milk, etc daily), so I'm concerned that my cholesterol levels might be even worse when I take my next blood test next month.
Should I be worried and start laying off the high cholesterol food? I read somewhere that dietary cholesterol has no effect on blood cholesterol and also read the opposite, that it does have an effect on certain people. I'm also not doing as much cardio as I did on the cut, simply because biking outside in the cold sucks.
